Local:
Community Supported Agriculture (NEW)- Our church will be serving our immediate neighbors and own members by being a site for weekly deliveries of local, fresh, organic produce. Sign up for this new ministry will be taking place in February and March. More info coming soon.
Commitment: pick up food once a week.

Lunch in the Neighborhood (NEW)- Have fun just
BEING in our urban community! After church we’ll pick local spots where there is an open invitation for folks to meet for coffee, burritos, tapas, etc. Our goal is to better get to know our lively community and maybe have them get to know us as we go! Look for information in the bulletin if you want to participate. Hosts are needed to name a specific Sunday and the place you want to visit - then others will meet you there! Commitment: as interested, a meal after church

ESL Tutoring (NEW) - A weekly English as a
Second Language ministry is starting up at FCC.
Join a team from our congregation as we meet to
teach basic word and conversational skills as we
develop relationships with people from around the
world. We’ll also help train you if needed.
Commitment: Wed, 5-6:15 pm, before community
meal.

Technology Center: (NEW) - We have a new mini
tech-center downstairs meant to serve homeless
teens and women. If you’re interested in helping
keep the equipment current and/or tutoring these
folks in how technology might serve them, let us
know!

Overnight Women’s Shelter - Support our shelter
ministry that houses up to 40 homeless women
overnight in our church’s lower level. Volunteers
can help make breakfast bags for the women
weekly, collect/create toiletry/pamper kits, and
provide other services as needed.

Community Housing Team - Join a small group
that is meeting for fellowship and to support various
church efforts to address community housing and
homelessness (including the shelter). Learn about
the issues involved and take action.
Commitment:meets every other month.

Knit One, Pray Two - Join knitters of all levels as
we learn to knit various projects that serve cancer
patients, their families and others in need of
support. You can learn to knit, pray for others, and
give a tangible reminder of God’s presence.
Commitment: first Wednesday of every month.

Street Feed - Each week, a warm meal is served to
homeless teens in our community in an effort to
form caring relationships and discern their greater
needs. Volunteers are needed to help prepare,
serve and clean up while interacting with the teens.
Commitment: Fridays, 6-8:00pm on a rotating
basis.

Community Bible Study - A weekly Bible study is
held at Denny Terrace studying various books of
the Bible. Newcomers are welcome to either help
lead or attend and build relationships with
community members. Currently we are studying the
book of Acts and the early church.
Commitment:Wednesdays, 7-8pm

International:
Global Poverty Team - Join a small group that
meets for fellowship and to support various church
efforts to address global poverty, hunger, and AIDS.
This group works with ONE Campaign, Bread for
the World, CWR, and related programs. Learn
together about the issues and help teach our
church!
Commitment: meets 1x a month

Fair Trade (NEW) - Help bring opportunities for
learning about and purchasing fair trade items to
the congregation. Organize fair trade coffee
purchase for Sunday morning. Partner with other
organizations to promote fair trade gifts fair around
holiday season, and/or connect with area college
campuses on this issue to find resources, &
partners.
Commitment: flexible.

July 17- 20, Journey to Mosaic, North Pacific – The North Pacific Conference is hosting another weekend trip designed to explain our region’s
history regarding race and inequality issues.

August 6- 11, Feet to Faith- A 6-day conference for high school youth held at Seattle University August 6-11th 2008. Don’t let your students miss this amazing conference that will take a look at many areas of justice that Christians are asked to address: World Issues of Hunger, AIDS and Poverty; Immigration and Refugees; Creation Care and Environmental Justice; Racial Justice; and Homelessness.
