Reaching Out Study
Simone Weil wrote that "waiting patiently in expectation is the foundation
of the spiritual life." Lent is a time of preparation for Easter. But
beyond that, in our heart of hearts, what are we awaiting? What are we
hoping for? To be made whole? To find that elusive inner peace? Finally,
an end to our loneliness? We often need reminding that God does not ask us to be complete, that the life of Jesus is a sign that God takes on our brokenness and lives with us in a broken world. Amid all the activity of
modern life, amid all the pressure to achieve more and more, how might we transform our grasping loneliness into a centered solitude? We will use the book Reaching Out by psychologist and priest Henri Nouwen as a guide and spur to our discussion. The first conversation will begin at 7:30 pm, Tuesday February 23rd, at Carl Adair's house.
The Me I Want to Be: Becoming God's Best Version of You
This book, written by John Ortberg, was given out to Covenant pastors at Midwinter. Come join this group and let's see what we think of this new book as we draw closer to God and to each other. We will meet every Prime Time in March (3, 10, 17, 24) at 6:30 p.m. Copies of the book are available on Amazon.com. For more information, e-mail Pastor Carolyn.

Knit One, Pray Too is a small group ministry that gathers to knit together, pray, and to provide the shawls to others. Some shawls have been given to the chaplins at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to share with cancer patients, and others given to people we know who need prayer. The group is open to anyone who wishes to gather with us, from high school age on up.
Denny Terrace Bible Study
When: Wednesdays from 7 - 8 p.m.
Where: Lester Jones Memorial Room of Denny Terrace
100 Melrose Avenue East, Seattle, WA
We meet weekly to study and discuss the Bible. The group is very informal, eagerly seeking more minds and opinions. Sometimes we get people who really know the Bible (sometimes there are two of them and they disagree on points, but that's what makes it fun and informative!) Contact Cinda if you'd like to participate, or feel free just to show up!
